Job Description:

As a CVOR Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons with tasks involved during surgical procedures which include operating cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machines, administering and monitoring anesthesia, and more. You should be calm and responsive, have the ability to perform under pressure, and be an effective communicator. Key responsibilities include:

1. Duties and Responsibilities:
   
   
   
   • Conduct and document patient assessments
   
   
   
   
   
   • Ensure that proper protocol is followed throughout surgeries
   
   
   
   
   
   • Administer and monitor anesthesia
   
   
   
   
   
   • Monitor vital signs
   
   
   
   
   
   • Ensure patient safety
   
   
   
   
   
   • Apply wound dressings
   
   
   
   
   
   • Ensure that surgical instruments are sterile
   
   
   
   
   
   • Provide education to patients and their families
   
   
   
   
   
   • Plan, assess, and evaluate patient care plan before, during, and after surgical procedures
   
   
   
   
   
   • Administer medications
   
   
   
   
   
   • Maintain records of the outcomes of surgical procedures
   
   
   
   
   
   • Assist physicians in the creation and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients
   
   
   
   





2. Education and Experience:
   
   
   
   • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
   
   
   
   
   
   • Must have 2 years of recent RN CVOR experience.
   
   
   
   





3. Certifications:
   
   
   
   • Current and Valid RN License required.
   
   
   
   
   
   • BLS and ACLS Certification required.
   
   
   
   





4. Other requirements:
   
   
   
   • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
   
   
   
   

This position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. You will need a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and a valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license. Prior experience in an acute care setting and additional certifications in nursing are highly desirable.
