Job Description:
As a Step down Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing meticulous care for patients transitioning out of ICU units who need close monitoring. Your duties will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks to ensure high-quality patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- RN responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Step Down unit.
- The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients.
- They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
- Other assignments as needed
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Must have 1+ years of recent RN Step down experience
- Certifications:
- Current and Valid State RN License required.
- BLS and ACLS Certification required
- Other requirements:
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
This position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. You will need a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and a valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license. Prior experience in an acute health care setting and additional certifications are highly desirable.
