Unit Description: Orthopedic trauma specialty unit is a unique floor whose primary focus is orthopedic trauma patients. We are a 36-bed unit. Our type of patients consists of trauma in need of orthopedic surgery, total joint replacements, cervical-thoracic- lumbar spine surgery and general medical surgical patients. Our team is enthusiastic, diverse, upbeat about our patients and warm, welcoming environment supportive of new staff to advocate for our patients.

Job Description:

Medical-surgical nurses are registered nurses who provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures. They coordinate healthcare plans with medical professionals, administer medications, and educate patients on surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
  • The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for providing quality imaging. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs general nuclear medicine scans and cardiac scans. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general nuclear medicine scans and cardiac scans. 
  • Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals orally or by injection or inhalation.
  • Explaining the imaging procedure to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort while placing them in the appropriate position for scanning.
  • Operating imaging equipment, such as PET and SPECT scans.
  • Processing images on the brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver on the computer.

Job Description:

As a Neuro IR Technologist, you will provide direct patient care, cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation/medication administration in Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and CT Scan. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and procedures.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating neuroimaging equipment, including angiography systems and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) equipment. Familiarity with image analysis software.
    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurovascular diseases. Familiarity with interventional neurology procedures, including endovascular thrombectomy, embolization, and stenting.
    • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when analyzing and documenting imaging data
    • Collaborate with neurointerventionalists and other healthcare professionals in performing various complex neurointerventional procedures, including but not limited to aneurysm coiling, arteriovenous malformation (AVM) embolization, carotid artery stenting, intracranial stenting, and intracranial thrombectomy. Assists physicians, according to OR standards of practice. Responsible for maintenance of sterile field, proper set-up, and handling and maintenance of equipment and injection of contrast media. Provides basic and advanced life support according to AHA standards under direct supervision of physician or according to protocol. This includes cardioversion and defibrillation, starting intravenous lines, CPR, and airway support
  2. Education and Experience:
    • Must have at least 2 years experience in the interventional neuro setting. Will accept a combination of IR/Cath Lab and Neuro experience, but must have specific neuro skillset for consideration. 
    • Knowledge and experience of neuroimaging techniques and procedures including angiography (DSA) equipment
  3. Certifications:
    • State license to work as a IR technologist
